'where the sky's the limit!'
Faster, safer, greener and more efficient… Delft Centre for Aviation (DCA) is aimed at meeting the complex challenges facing the rapidly developing aviation sector in the 21st century.
DCA is the aviation research centre of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). DCA serves as a hub for all the cutting-edge research conducted at the TU Delft faculties. By bringing together all of TU Delft's expertise under one (virtual) roof and establishing knowledge partnerships with leading national and international organizations, DCA offers ‘total solutions’ for the key aviation and airport-related issues of today and tomorrow.
DCA initiates and facilitates multi-disciplinary research projects that tackle present and future challenges faced by society, the aviation sector and policymakers. DCA's combined research efforts focus on finding the right balance between economic goals and environmental, safety and security concerns. By clustering the expertise of researchers from many different disciplines DCA provides comprehensive solutions for the aviation sector.
DCA's research covers five major themes:
- Air traffic systems
- Aviation processes
- Airport systems
- Landside accessibility
- Sustainability analysis
